Team occasions
Virtual team building ideas that fit different time zones and working days. Choose an activity people can join, and give the organiser a card from the team afterwards.
AI checks. Human review. Your own words. ↓Virtual team building ideas
Check the team’s time zones, access needs and working hours first. Give an asynchronous option when a live activity would exclude someone.
Let people volunteer a hobby, a tool or something they made. Keep the topic optional so nobody has to reveal family life or their home.
Choose a small group and a clear end time. Share the rules beforehand and offer a different way to take part for people who do not enjoy games.
Ask a colleague to explain something they know. Give them preparation time and let others send questions in advance if they cannot attend live.
Choose a subject that does not require a home photograph or location. People can contribute during their own workday instead of logging on late at night.
After the activity, collect a card from the people who joined. Include colleagues who helped with preparation or could only take part asynchronously.
The organiser’s list
An activity is separate from a performance requirement. Make the time, access needs and participation choice clear to the team.
AI safety checks
The check looks for threats, abuse, sexual content, spam and exposed private details. Flagged notes are kept off the card for a person to review.
How the checks work ↗AI does not write, complete or rewrite a colleague’s message.
Company cards have a spam folder for managers and admins. On a card bought without an account, the creator reviews set aside notes through their manage link.
AI can miss a note or flag one wrongly. If the check is unavailable, writing still works.
Notes are sent to TypeSafe for the check. Names and card access codes are left out of that request.
Read the privacy notice ↗From an occasion to a card
Pick a cover, name the recipient and choose when it opens. You can buy one card without a company account.
Colleagues contribute in a browser. Each person writes and signs their own message.
The messages arrive together in one card. The recipient reads it on their phone.
For repeated birthdays, work anniversaries, welcomes and leaving days, use a company account with Slack and BambooHR.
See the plans ↗An asynchronous activity, or repeated short sessions, lets people join during their own working day. A shared card can be signed at different times too.
No. Use your usual meeting tool for the activity. tbf work collects the team’s words in a card afterwards.
