International Nurses Day

A thank you that fits the rota.

A ward or community team may never be in the same room at once. Choose recognition people can take part in without missing work or disclosing patient details.

  1. 01

A card across day and night

Share the writing link through an agreed staff channel and leave it open across the rota. Do not use attendance at a single meeting as the measure of participation.

  2. 02

    A mentor or preceptor

Invite colleagues who learned from the person. Keep clinical cases, patient names and identifiable circumstances out of the messages.

  3. 03

    A team beyond one ward

Community, outpatient and support colleagues may share the work. If the card is for that team, include them in the invitation rather than assuming one location covers everyone.

  4. 04

    A handover that includes thanks

Use an existing staff moment if the team wants it. Keep the card opening brief and arrange cover for people who would otherwise miss it.

  5. 05

    A private delivery

Ask the recipient or team how they want to read the card. Recognition does not need a photograph, social post or public speech.

The organiser’s list

Before the rota turns.

Use your employer’s approved routes for staff communication. Do not put patient or clinical information into the card, even when a story feels complimentary.

  • Include all shifts in the writing window.
  • Keep patient information out of contributions.
  • Ask the team how they want it delivered.
  • Arrange cover for any gathering.
  • Review flagged notes before the card closes.

AI safety checks

People write.
AI checks.

The check looks for threats, abuse, sexual content, spam and exposed private details. Flagged notes are kept off the card for a person to review.

How the checks work ↗
01

Your own words

AI does not write, complete or rewrite a colleague’s message.

02

A person can correct it

Company cards have a spam folder for managers and admins. On a card bought without an account, the creator reviews set aside notes through their manage link.

03

The limits are clear

AI can miss a note or flag one wrongly. If the check is unavailable, writing still works.

04

Check the data policy

Notes are sent to TypeSafe for the check. Names and card access codes are left out of that request.

From an occasion to a card

Give them
everyone’s words.

  1. 01

    Create the card

Pick a cover, name the recipient and choose when it opens. You can buy one card without a company account.

  2. 02

    Share the writing link

Colleagues contribute in a browser. Each person writes and signs their own message.

  3. 03

They open it on the day

The messages arrive together in one card. The recipient reads it on their phone.

For repeated birthdays, work anniversaries, welcomes and leaving days, use a company account with Slack and BambooHR.
